Granny’s House Guide: What Every Beginner Needs to Know

It’s a multiplayer escapes game where you play with up to eight players and escape Granny in different modes. And due to its popularity, it has become a widely played horror game for horror fanatics worldwide.

Granny’s House Gameplay

Granny’s House features a hide-and-seek concept, which is elevated and made even better. Here, the children are the ones who hide, while the grannies are the ones who seek. Moreover, the game provides a multitude of experiences to players with its various game modes available. Consequently, these game modes keep the game fresh and unique and provide non-repetitive gameplay compared to other horror games.

6 Game Modes in Granny’s House

Here are the six current game modes that you can enjoy in Granny’s House.

1. Escape Mode

The escape mode is the PvP match of the game, where eight players are put head-to-head. For this mode, there will be two grannies and six children known as Dorothy. Dorothy’s team needs to look for three keys inside the mansion, which they will use to unlock the doors to escape. Meanwhile, two grannies will capture and put the children inside cages to prevent them from escaping.

In the Escape mode, children can throw rocks at Granny to stun her. However, Granny can strike them within her radius using the huge stick she carries. Aside from the stick, Granny can set traps to slow down the children. Once Dorothy is caught, they will need to wait for their teammates to free them from the prison. If a single child escapes, Dorothy’s team wins. If the two grannies manage to lock up all children, then Granny’s team wins.

2. Story Mode

The Story mode is the PvE mode, where players must clear all stages and defeat enemies to escape the mansion. In this mode, each player will have a different role as part of the escaping team. And there are six roles that a player can choose from:

Bomber

The bomber sets up the bombs and waits for them to explode. The bombs are usually set up where the Grannies are gathered to blow them up. You can only place three bombs at once since there’s a cooldown.

Thrower

The thrower is the one who throws stones at Grannies. You can only throw stones one at a time due to its cooldown.

Puppeteer

The puppeteer is the one who creates a poisonous radius. Once the Grannies are within that radius, they will be dealt with damage and get slowed down.

Beater

The beater sets up a scarecrow to get the attention of the Grannies. Once the Grannies destroy the scarecrow, it deals damage to them.

Healer

The healer creates a healing radius where teammates can stand and heal themselves. Suppose the Grannies are hitting them while inside the healing radius, they get 25% less damage from the strikes.

3. Infection Mode

Players in the Infection mode get no defined role, meaning you get to play both Granny and Dorothy. Here, the game will randomly select the Grannies while the rest become children. Once the Granny catches a child, they will turn into a Dorothy, and vice versa. Hence, the term infection. But once Dorothy gets all items needed, they can escape and win.
 

4. Craft Mode

The craft mode allows the players to create their own maps, which they can use to play with friends. You can do this by creating a room and inviting friends to join in. You can also join your friends’ rooms. Just type in the password set up for that specific room to access it.

5. Occupation Mode

At least four up to eight players are needed to play this mode. Moreover, participants have to be even in number to make two teams equal. Each team’s goal is to take over statues, with one team member from each team becoming the Granny. The Grannies of each team will have to capture the children from the opposing team.

6. Ignition Mode

In the Ignition mode, only six players will be allowed to play. Here, the game will choose a Granny randomly, while the remaining players will be the children. The children will have to find Torches in random places in the mansion while collecting Embers. These Embers must be attached to the Braziers, where there are three of them. The children can only escape once the five Embers are attached to these Braziers.

On the other hand, the Granny can disrupt the game by turning the Brazier off if they’re not complete. But once it’s full, Granny won’t be able to extinguish it. So Granny’s goal is to catch all the children and prevent Embers from being attached to the Braziers.
