With that said, it’s time to refresh your memory before you jump back into the zombie-infested world as a gardener with the help of our Plants vs. Zombies adventure mode quick guide below.

Before we proceed to the main topic, do take note that we will be focusing on the Plants vs. Zombies Free. This is because the version comes with improved graphics and simplified gameplay elements that look and play better.

What is PVZ Free?

Plants vs. Zombies Free is the modern version of the original game. Aside from having high-definition graphics, PVZ Free also comes with simplified features designed for mobile devices. In addition, the developers were able to squeeze in new and classic features while keeping the original gameplay structure. In a nutshell, PVZ Free is what the original game would look like if it was developed today.

Adventure Mode

Plants vs. Zombies Adventure Mode Overview

One of the most notable changes in PVZ Free is the Adventure Mode that comes with a level selector feature. This reimagining of the classic feature makes it easier for players to keep track of their in-game progress. Even better is that below the level selector is five tabs representing the five areas in the game. Each area features 10 levels that feature a mix of regular levels and mini-games. Check out the detailed description of each Area level below.

Day Mode

Day Area

Day Area is the first area in the game that showcases the basic plants and zombies in the game. This area houses the first 10 levels which are the easiest set of levels in the entire game. Playing through this area will allow you to acquire the following plants: Sunflower, Peashooter, Cherry Bomb, Wal-nut, Potato Mine, Snow Pea, Chomper, and Repeater.

Night Area

Night Area

Night Area is the second stage that you will encounter upon your completion of the Day Area. This area will introduce the nocturnal plants in the game. Due to the absence of the sun, the generation of sunlight by sunflowers will be slow. Nevertheless, you can still use Sunflowers at this level up until the Sun-Shroom becomes available. To compensate for the lack of sunlight, the game will provide you with a Puff-Shroom that costs nothing to plant. In addition, the game will place random graves that spawn random zombies. You can use the Grave Buster to remove those pesky graves. Other plants introduced in this stage include Fume-Shroom, Hypno-Shroom, Scaredy-Shroom, Ice-Shroom, and Doom-Shroom.

Pool Area

Pool Area

The Pool Area introduces aquatic plants to the game. In this area, the pool will consume two of the six lines on your lawn. You need to plant Lily Pads before you can plant any type of seeds in the pool. In addition, you will also unlock the following seeds in the game: Squash, Threepeater, Jalapeno, Spikeweed, Torchwood, and Tallnut.

Fog Area

Fog Area

The Fog Area is basically nighttime in the pool area with two-thirds of the backyard consumed by fog. The Fog ups the difficulty of the pool area however, you will have access to the Plantern that can illuminate the foggy area. In addition, you will have access to the Sea-shroom which, similar to the Puff-shroom, costs nothing to plant. You will be able to unlock the Cactus, Pumpkin, and Magnet-shroom at this stage.

Roof Area

Roof Area

The Roof Area is the final stage in Adventure Mode. This stage is going to be more challenging due to the slope battle area. To compensate for the challenging slope, the game will provide you with catapult plants like the Cabbage-pult, Kernel-put, and Melon-pult. You need to utilize all the aforementioned catapult plants to beat each level. In addition to the catapult plants are the Coffee Beans, Garlics, Umbrella Leaves, and Marigolds.
