Single-Player Campaign Mode

Probably the biggest difference that Run Guys: Knockout Royale has is its single-player campaign mode. In this mode, you get to compete against other players in an elimination obstacle course race. The gameplay of the campaign mode is different since you won’t get to race on obstacle courses. Instead, it comes with arcade gameplay where you get to battle against various enemies. On every level, your goal is to kill all enemies so you can move to the next level. For this mode, you only get to control your character’s movements as it will automatically shoot enemies. After you complete several levels, you’ll be given a choice to add one of three abilities. It can be to improve your attack, get a shield, and so on. Ultimately, your goal is to complete as many levels as you can, and every 10th level is a boss fight.

Now, the campaign mode is not just simply an option to play. It’s also where you can earn resources like coins and crystals to use in the game. The higher the level you reach, the more you earn. Crystals are used to purchase chests to gain items to equip on your character. You can also use it to unlock more characters. Meanwhile, coins are used to play the battle royale mode, upgrade gears, and unlock talents. You’ll need to spend 20 coins to play the battle royale on the obstacle course.

The Battle Royale Game is Tougher

Another difference in this game is that the battle royale is more challenging. That is because you don’t just have to rely on your skills, you also need to unlock talents and upgrade gears. Both can improve your character’s ability, allowing you to do better during the match. One talent that you can possess is the Runner, which boosts your maximum speed. For the gears, you can gain a jump bonus, speed bonus, and so on.
 

 
Gears can be upgraded to further improve their stats. However, you’ll need to upgrade scrolls aside from spending coins. Gears and scrolls are earned through chests, which you can get at the Campaign mode and for winning the battle royale mode. That is why its gameplay is tougher to win. Even if you’re very skilled at overcoming obstacles, you will still fall behind. You’ll need to upgrade gears and unlock talents to help you compete against other players.

Other than that, the gameplay still follows the usual obstacle course game, where you need to race against other players to qualify for the next round. There will be five rounds in total, and the one who finishes first in the last round wins the race. But as mentioned earlier, winning here won’t be that easy unless you update your gears or unlock more talents.
